Photography in black and white. Until recently I shot exclusively digital, so most of these photos began as color images and were converted to b/w using Photoshop or Lightroom. In my early years as a photographer, I had a strong preference for black and white images. Photography is a creative interpretation of reality designed to convey a feeling or concept. For me, it was easier to do this in black and white, because I didn’t have a good idea for color coordination or creative color processing. In 2011 I made a conscious effort to improve my creative use of color and I think I’ve improved in this area.
