Photography in color. In my early years as a photographer, I had a strong preference for black and white images. Photography is a creative interpretation of reality designed to convey a feeling or concept. For me, it was easier to do this in black and white, because I didn’t have a good idea for color coordination or creative color processing. I felt that my color images were “too real” and didn’t carry any symbolic meaning beyond the immediate visual.
In 2011 I made a conscious effort to improve my creative use of color and I think I’ve improved in this area. I try to use colors creatively to add to the mood.
