In 2005 I continued to shoot with the Canon EOS Digital Rebel and added a 50mm f/1.4 to my collection. The 50mm is a great lens and I dove headfirst into the exciting new world of shallow DoF.
The Rebel had an APS-C sized sensor, so the effective focal length of the 50mm was actually 80mm on that body. This made it limited in close quarters, but it was still my favorite lens. Btw, I sold the 50mm 1.4 in 2007 and used the money for a cheap laptop. I sold the laptop 2008, and in 2010 bought another 50mm 1.4. The moral of the story? Don’t sell your 50.
