By 2006 I was beginning to feel that the Rebel was holding me back. The AF was relatively poor in low light situations, and the camera took 2-3 seconds to power on. With a two-year-old running around the house this 2 second start-up time had already caused me to miss several shots. In October I upgraded to the Canon EOS 30D and purchased the EF-S 17mm-55mm f/2.8 IS USM. This was my first experience with Image Stabilization, and I was instantly hooked.
The last two photos on this page were made with the 30D.
