2008 was a slow year for my photography. Demands of work, life, and a new baby left little time or energy for making pictures. At least that’s how I felt.

Is photography something I should struggle to find time for? Should I have to “make time” in my schedule to take out the camera? When your work gets in the way of your passion it’s time to step back and take stock of what’s really important.

In 2008, at the bottom of the financial crisis and after losing 30% of my savings, I quit my job. I was unemployed for about 4 months, but my photography improved. I eventually found a new job in a healthier environment and started making photos again.
