In 2010 I moved from continuous studio lighting (“hot lights”) to small hot-shoe flashes. The move to off camera flash gave me a lot more flexibility with my studio lighting. Though I still prefer natural light, I’ve really enjoyed playing with off camera flash in the studio. I’m currently using Canon 430EX IIs along with homemade and commercial lighting modifiers. I trigger the flashes with Canon’s Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2.
The 5th and 6th photos above were taken with off camera flash in the studio.
